As thousands of nominations were received for the inaugural Food Awards Wales, we are pleased to announce that Moksh has been shortlisted in the Best Indian Restaurant category.

The awards aim to recognise the hard work and efforts of the Welsh food industry.  Accolades include restaurants, takeaways, gastro pubs, hotel restaurants, cafes and bistros, as well as shine the spotlight on the wonderful local producers who supply their delicious ingredients.

In a glittering ceremony, the third Welsh Asian Women’s Achievement Awards (WAWAA) took place on Saturday 25th April in City Hall, Cardiff.  Attended by over 300 people, it was a truly inspirational evening, celebrating the outstanding achievements of Asian women living in Wales.

The 2015  ‘Welsh Asian Women Achievement Awards’ (WAWAA) ceremony and dinner is being held on Saturday 25th April at City Hall, Cardiff from 7pm.

This all Wales-based award scheme was introduced to recognise, publicise and applaud the merits of deserving Welsh Asian women.

This celebratory evening will include a welcoming drinks reception, a number of Asian entertainment events, an Asian feast cooked by Stephen Gomes, the award-winning chef of the Moksh restaurant, which will lead up to the WAWAA award ceremony and finally followed by popular and vibrant Bollywood dancing.

It’s that time of the year again, and we are really hoping to make it into the Good Food Guide – Readers’ Restaurant of the Year 2016. However, we need your help!

Recipe serves 2 people

Ingredients:
3 tbsps tamarind paste
3 tbsps boiling water
2 tbsps sunflower oil
220g lean rump steak or roast beef leftovers,
cut into strips
1 small onion, cut into thin slices

Set to open in March, we can officially let the ‘cat out of the bag’ or should that be the ‘hat out of the bag!’ as our own Chef Stephen will be opening another restaurant in Mumbai.

The Mad Hatter will be a fine dining restaurant, where guests will be encouraged to have fun with dishes combining elements of science and modernist cuisine…it sounds amazing!
